GIS Analyst, Palatka FL PBS&J (www.pbsj.com ) is seeking a GIS Analyst to work with a highly skilled Environmental team in the Palatka, FL office. This position will provide database and scientific support for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Integrated Water Resources Monitoring Tier 1-Status Network, fixed-station trend network partly sponsored by the FDEP, and St. Johns River Water Supply Impact Study. The typical job duties include but are not limited to the following: - Conducts data gathering, conversion and analysis of GIS data. - Prepares data documentation or metadata for GIS projects. - Prepares maps and exhibits with GIS data sets. - Participates in client needs analyses. - Maintains continued knowledge of technology developments in the GIS field and the use of GIS software. - Monitors quality control within area of responsibility. - Assists Senior GIS Analysts in certain aspects of project management. - Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary. *EEO/AA/Smoke-free, Drug-free workplace. Job Requirements: At least a Bachelor's degree in geography or one of the natural sciences from an accredited college or university. This position requires a balance between the geographical and natural sciences disciplines. If the bachelor s degree is in natural sciences an educational component shall be in geography (e.g. M.S. in geography).
