Prefer Batchelor’s degree in GIS or related field, but candidate can be an upper level student working towards a certificate or degree in GIS or related field. Taking direction from the GIS Coordinator, the GIS assistant will be responsible for editing information in fields that are crucial to the infrastructure of the county GIS systems. Therefore, focus and the ability to work independently is a must. A current driver’s license and a clean driving record and background check are required. Candidate must be able to: * Lift heavy books weighing up to 40 lbs * Interpret surveys and land descriptions * Grasp basic tables and mathematical equations * Foster and maintain relationships with multiple departments * Work with the public when needed SOFTWARE / HARDWARE EXPERIENCE: Pathfinder, Trimble, Arc map, Arc Catalog, Arc Editor, all basic windows programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc. The position is for 40 hours per week starting at $12:00 per hour DOE. This is an entry-level temporary position with the potential to migrate into full time employment.
