GEO 295 - Introduction to Field Geology (3 credits, 2 weeks)
Location and Facilities: Owens Valley near Bishop in Eastern California
Accommodations: Owens Valley Lab, White Mountain Research Station, 3000 E. Line Street, Bishop, CA 93514
Dates of Camp: Monday, September 10, 2012 to Friday, September 21, 2012
Course Prerequisites: OSU GEO 201 (Physical Geology) and OSU GEO 202 (Earth Systems Science)
Transportation: OSU Motor Pool Van. No private vehicles.
Gear: Field geology gear, sleeping bag and boots required (complete list). Fee covers some supplies.
Cost: Program Fee = ~$700 plus fall tuition

GEO 495 - Advanced Field Geology (6 credits, 4 weeks)
Location, Facilities and Rules: Mitchell, Wheeler County, Central Oregon
Dates of Camp: June 18, 2012 to July 14, 2012
Course Prerequisites:
- OSU GEO 201 Physical Geology
- OSU GEO 202 Earth Systems Science
- OSU GEO 295 Introduction to Field Geology
- OSU GEO 310 Mineralogy
- OSU GEO 315 Petrology
- OSU 340 Structural Geology
- OSU GEO 370 Stratigraphy and Sedimentation (recommended)
- OSU GEO 415 Igneous Petrography (recommended)
Transportation: OSU Motor Pool Van
Lodging: Mitchell Field Station, Mitchell, Oregon
Food: Meals are provided
Gear: Field geology gear, sleeping bag and boots required. Fee covers some supplies.
Cost: Program Fee = $975 plus tuition* (~$1,404) = ~$2,379 total estimated cost. (*Estimated summer term tuition)
